The Power of Commitment

Commitment is a pledge of loyalty. It can cover a variety of aspects such as commitment to a relationship, love or marriage; commitment to profession or work; commitment to goals—commitment that can be considered personal or professional.

Some of us might think that commitment is just a word. It is not, for every word goes beyond from being just a word. Putting our heart to and understanding commitment, is looking at it beyond the mere word. Generally, commitment means to show loyalty, duty or pledge to something or to someone. It could also be the trait of sincere and steadfast fixity or purpose.

Commitment therefore resembles to an obligation. It is a heartfelt promise and doing your best to stand by what you said--an obligation that you should live and stand by responsibly to.

People as we are, we innately aspire with good intentions and beautiful dreams. But ironically, only a few of us are willing to commit to something or someone. Everyone might be curious and is willing to know what commitment really is. Here are several points you might be interested in knowing about commitment.

Commitment is the willingness to learn and to look for a positive and brighter way to handle it. It is making a choice, followed by the intention to do it and the courage and determination to achieve such choice.

Committing in a work for instance, you must achieve everything that incorporates your commitment. You must finish your task and love what you are doing to achieve success in your commitment to the task, even using promotional pens. If you look at the picture, this is just temporary commitment.

Commitment can also go beyond it and can expand through a lifetime. Commitment to a wife for instance, commitment to a family; lifetime commitment can be handled by loving every single bit of what you do, you are doing and will do and considering those whom you are committed to before yourself. You may even reminisce the bridal shower favors you had.

Commitment should start from within. And it will just come out naturally. The most basic of it is to set values, principles, self discipline and beliefs in traversing the road to commitment.
Commitment is the key to success. By committing you’ll achieve triumph and victory. Hence, many effective leaders or perfect relationships succeed.

With every commitment is a promise and with every promise is the hope of assurance that commitment will never last. But hope alone is weak to support the strong component of life. It is through doing and not hoping that commitment will have a stable foundation.

Trust. It should go hand in hand with commitment. In trusting yourself that you can gain respect, and more than that you will be confident to stand to keep your hand clasp with commitment.
Being genuine to your commitment, you stand out the test of time. Commitment is immortal. And to that it is a must-be-kept wherever, whenever.

There is more to commitment that what you thought—things that can make you and the other people around you happy. You can find that only when you start to commit.
